Criminal investigators detained a man suspected of physically and psychologically abusing his wife, including the other household members. These acts began at the end of last year and continued until his detention. – According to the case files, the suspect not only threatened to take their lives, but also threatened to damage property by setting fire to the house where he lived with his wife and her parents – says Senior Sergeant Łukasz Porębski from the Press Section of the Provincial Police Headquarters in Wrocław.
He adds: – Based on the information gathered in the case, Lubań police officers began a verification procedure to determine whether an application could be prepared requiring the foreigner to return to his country.
Police officers questioned further people in connection with the case and also checked the foreigner’s legal status. It turned out that the man did not have documents authorizing entry into or stay in the territory of the Republic of Poland.
The result? The Lubań County Police Commander submitted an application to the authorized Border Guard authority for a decision requiring the foreigner to return.
On this basis, Border Guard officers took over custody of the foreigner. Administrative deportation proceedings are currently underway.
