As president Andrzej Jagiera emphasizes, MZK Bolesławiec tried to provide the service despite the extremely difficult weather conditions. In the morning, at around 4:30 a.m., a bus set out onto the streets of Bolesławiec. The problem was that it... became stuck on Gdańska Street.
The second one set out a little later and reached Gałczyńskiego, where it hit a streetlamp near the stop. Fortunately, no one suffered any serious injuries.
That is precisely why the president decided that public transport would not operate for the time being. (It resumed at 2:00 p.m.) As he emphasized, the decision was about the safety of both drivers and passengers.
Andrzej Jagiera has worked at MZK for 40 years; he does not remember the roads in the Ceramic City ever being so dangerously slippery during that time.
The bus that hit the streetlamp was taken out of service.
This is already the second time that MZK vehicles have not gone out onto the streets of the Ceramic City. The first occurred during... the pandemic.
