The incident occurred on 27 January, before 10 p.m. – Police officers from the Ścinawa police station, while patrolling the municipality, spotted a man between the villages who was signalling for them to stop. The man was very nervous and frightened – reports asp. szt. Monika Kaleta of the Wrocław KWP. – He informed the officers that his friend had been attacked 10 minutes earlier. He said that he had been driving behind his colleague's car when a vehicle carrying three men blocked their way. A man got out of the passenger seat, approached his friend and, threatening him with a knife, ordered him to get out of the car, which the perpetrator then drove away in.

The officers informed the duty officer about what had happened and immediately took action. They drove in the direction indicated by the witness.

After receiving the patrol's report, the duty officer quickly coordinated the operation. He also promptly sent patrols from Lubin to the scene, providing them with descriptions of the suspects.

After a brief search, officers from Ścinawa located the stolen vehicle, and near it they found men who were in another car and exactly matched the descriptions provided by the victims and their friend. In that car, the officers found the knife with which the 33-year-old had threatened the owner, as well as a baseball bat and pepper sprays.

Thanks to the police officers' quick response, the suspects—aged 33, 40 and 41—were detained and taken to a police cell. The stolen vehicle, worth PLN 35,000, was returned to its owner.

After the investigators had gathered the evidence, the men were taken to the prosecutor's office. One of them, a 33-year-old resident of the Ścinawa municipality, was placed in temporary custody for three months by court order. Police: – The case is developing, and it cannot be ruled out that the charges against the 33-year-old will be expanded. The offence of robbery theft carries a penalty of up to 15 years in prison.
