The incident occurred on January 24, at approximately 7:50 p.m. – Police officers were sent to an apartment in Jelenia Góra, where, according to the report, an aggressive man had started a disturbance – reports Sub-Inspector Edyta Bagrowska of the local Municipal Police Headquarters. – Upon arrival, the officers found a man holding a knife who was threatening the woman staying with him. When he saw the police, the aggressor directed his anger at them, charged at them with the knife, and then attempted to assault them, insulted the officers and threatened to kill them. These threats caused a real and justified fear that they would be carried out.

Acting decisively and in accordance with applicable procedures, the officers subdued and arrested the aggressive man.

It turned out that several minutes earlier, the duty officer at the Municipal Police Headquarters in Jelenia Góra had also received a report from passers-by about two aggressively behaving men walking along one of the city's streets. According to witnesses, they had responded with violence when people reprimanded them. During further inquiries, the officers confirmed that one of the men was the arrested 44-year-old. The spokesperson said: – The other man calmed down after the police arrived.

The arrested man was taken to police custody. He faces up to 10 years in prison for the offenses committed. On January 27, at the request of the prosecutor from the District Prosecutor's Office in Jelenia Góra, the court ordered the suspect to be held in temporary custody for two months.
