Operational police officers from the Criminal Division of the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec, following a series of prior findings, identified and checked a total of three apartments in the city.

During the activities, officers found and secured drugs in each of the apartments. In total, the officers seized—and thereby withdrew from illegal circulation—1 kilogram of marijuana and dismantled a cultivation operation involving 22 cannabis plants at various stages of growth, intended to produce substances prohibited by law.

A 43-year-old man and his 44-year-old partner, both residents of Bolesławiec, were arrested in connection with the case. Police secured marijuana at each of their places of residence.

In the third premises, belonging to the male suspect, officers discovered an illegal cannabis cultivation operation and a narcotic substance ready for use.

Officers: – The 43-year-old, who described himself as a gardening enthusiast, was charged by the prosecutor with producing and possessing narcotic substances, illegally cultivating cannabis, and supplying drugs to several people, including the 44-year-old woman. He faces a prison sentence of between 3 and as many as 20 years for drug-related offences.

The arrested woman will be held responsible for possessing a significant quantity of narcotic substances. Under the applicable regulations, she faces up to 10 years in prison.

The case is developing, and further activities are being conducted under the supervision of the prosecutor’s office.
