A night-time intervention by officers from the Bolesławiec traffic police in the city began when they noticed a driver ignoring a no-entry restriction. Command:

This drew the officers’ attention and became the reason for stopping the vehicle for a traffic check.

When checking his details, officers found that the 35-year-old man did not have a driving licence. The officers also suspected that the resident of Warta Bolesławiecka municipality might be under the influence of a narcotic substance.

During further proceedings, officers established that the vehicle was not authorised for road use and did not have the mandatory third-party liability insurance.

In addition, the car had registration plates assigned to another vehicle.

Due to the suspicion that he was driving under the influence of a narcotic substance, the driver’s blood was collected for testing. If the results confirm the presence of prohibited substances in his body, the man will be held liable for driving under their influence. This offence carries a penalty of up to 3 years’ imprisonment.

The police are also clarifying the issue of the registration plates. Under the regulations, using registration plates of a motor vehicle that are not assigned to that vehicle constitutes an offence punishable by up to 5 years’ imprisonment.
