On Sunday, June 5, a uniformed services festival titled “A Uniformed Whirlwind” was held in Bolesławiec. Around 1,500 people attended the event. At the invitation of the commander of the 23rd Silesian Artillery Brigade, Col. Jarosław Kraszewski and the deputy head of the Association of Former Soldiers of the 62nd Special Company “Commando,” Bogdan Fiałkowski, the event was supported by, among others, the Military Recruitment Office, military police, the Military Family Association, the “Ciernik” Military Anglers’ Club, the police, fire service, municipal police, the Municipal Sports and Recreation Center, the Polish Red Cross and the Stanisław Wyspiański Youth Cultural Center in Bolesławiec.
That day, visitors could, among other things, test their shooting skills, learn to throw a knife and a throwing star, and learn about the construction of firearms. There were also competitions and demonstrations (the simulated police pursuit of a dangerous criminal made a strong impression on festival participants). One of the event’s biggest attractions was a pontoon-raft trip on the Bóbr.
As usual, military pea soup was very popular. The event was organized by the Association of the 62nd Special Company “Commando” and the 23rd Silesian Artillery Brigade.
