At the prosecutor’s request, the court ordered the temporary detention of a 36-year-old resident of Lubań suspected of physically and psychologically abusing, with particular cruelty, a one-year-old child unable to defend itself due to its age.
– Preliminary findings indicate that this cruel incident took place from an undetermined date in 2025 until November 22, 2025, in Lubań, where the suspect has lived for a year – explains Ewa Węglarowicz-Makowska, press spokesperson for the District Prosecutor’s Office in Jelenia Góra.
She adds: – The woman abused her one-year-old son by suffocating him with a pillow. She pulled the child by his clothes and hair, grabbed him and lifted him by the arms in order to cause him additional suffering, and also shouted at him.
What is more, she recorded it on her mobile phone and then sent the videos to the child’s father, her former partner, hoping in this way to force him to return home.
The man notified the police about the incident. When the woman was being detained by officers, she said that she felt unwell. She was therefore taken to the hospital in Lubań, where she received the necessary medical assistance.
The suspect, who had no previous criminal record, has already been charged, confessed to the alleged act and gave an explanation. She now faces up to 10 years in prison.
