One of the groups transported drugs not only in passenger cars and camper vans, but also… by inflatable boats and a jet ski across the Oder! The second organised group concealed substantial quantities of marijuana in trucks transporting vegetables from Spain to Germany.
In the course of a wide-ranging investigation, it was established that members of these groups brought substantial quantities of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances into Poland and Germany, including:
- marijuana – over 2.5 tonnes,
- amphetamine – 400 kg,
- cocaine – 3 kg,
- mephedrone – 15 kg,
- hashish – 30 kg,
- ecstasy tablets – 20,000 units.
The officers also uncovered illegal firearms and dismantled a cannabis plantation. During the operation, links to other crimes were discovered, including a robbery of a currency exchange office and the theft of a marijuana plantation in Krosno Odrzańskie.
The meticulous work of the police and prosecutors resulted in an indictment against 25 people, who are accused, among other things, of participating in an organised criminal group, smuggling, drug trafficking and illegal possession of firearms.
Thanks to the determination and professionalism of the Lwówek criminal investigators, extensive criminal structures operating in several European Union countries were dismantled.
