– Yesterday, a detention hearing in the case of three Georgian citizens was held at the District Court in Legnica. They had been arrested several days earlier by officers from the Property Crime Division of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Legnica – reports aspirant Anna Tersa from the local police headquarters. – After reviewing the evidence and the prosecutor’s motion, the court decided to remand all three in temporary detention for a period of three months.

The suspects face up to 8 years in prison for the crimes they committed.


As a reminder, on October 13, 2025, police officers arrested two Georgian citizens in Legnica. – One of them was using a forged Lithuanian passport, and his true identity was confirmed during further proceedings – explains senior aspirant Monika Kaleta from the Press Section of the Provincial Police Headquarters in Wrocław.

As part of further operations, officers searched an apartment in Wrocław, where the third member of the group was arrested. The spokesperson said: – At the place of residence and from the arrested individuals, police secured, among other things, cash, documents and a vehicle that the perpetrators used to travel between cities.

What did the investigators establish?

The findings so far indicate that the group committed numerous thefts from shops in the following provinces: Lower Silesian, Greater Poland, Silesian, Opole, Pomeranian, Łódź and Lubusz, causing losses of no less than PLN 60,000.

Through a thorough analysis of the evidence, surveillance and coordinated actions by officers, the activities of the mobile group, which used various methods to avoid accountability, were brought to an end.

Legnica police are currently checking the legality of their stay in Poland.

The arrested individuals have already been charged, and the prosecutor submitted a motion to the court for the preventive measure of temporary detention.

The police headquarters summed up: – Thanks to the professional and effective work of Legnica police officers, another criminal group has been dismantled, and its members will face justice.
