He fled through Jakuszyce to Poland in a Fiat Ducato stolen in the Czech Republic. First, the Czech police pursued him, and later the Polish police.
The Jelenia Góra police were notified of the pursuit after 4:00 p.m. First, officers tried to stop the suspect near Piechowice. However, he managed to escape again, damaging a police car in the process. Police shots were fired.
Officers caught the fugitive several kilometres farther on—a meadow in Wojcieszyce.
The police are determining the causes and circumstances of the incident.
