The traffic police on duty in Złotoryja stopped a Renault passenger car for inspection. – A 34-year-old resident of Bolesławiec County was behind the wheel. A check of his details in police databases showed that he did not have a driving licence – reports Sub-Inspector Dominika Kwakszys, press officer of the local District Police Headquarters.
That was not the end of it. The spokesperson said: – The court had issued a ban prohibiting him from driving motor vehicles. By deciding to drive the car, the man committed an offence set out in Article 244 of the Penal Code.
What is more, because our local resident was behaving unusually, the officers also conducted a drug test. The result? The police said:
It showed the presence of two types of drugs in his system: methamphetamine and amphetamine.
The man’s blood was taken for further testing. The car was secured by a person indicated by the driver.
The 34-year-old now faces up to five years in prison.
