At the request of the District Prosecutor in Lwówek Śląski, the District Court there ordered 31-year-old resident of Lwówek Śląski to be placed in pre-trial detention for three months. – The man is suspected of perpetrating domestic violence against members of his family for many years, including his sister, mother and cohabiting partner, as well as making criminal threats against his sister’s partner and his acquaintance – says Ewa Węglarowicz-Makowska, press spokesperson for the Regional Prosecutor’s Office in Jelenia Góra.

What did the investigators establish?

From January 2022 to 9 September 2025, the perpetrator physically and mentally abused his sister, and from May 2024—also his mother and cohabiting partner. The spokesperson says: – He started arguments during which he called his sister commonly recognized offensive names, threatened to kill her, and also pulled her by the hair and clothes, pushed her and hit her all over her body. He behaved similarly toward his mother and cohabiting partner, while extorting money from them. In addition, he disturbed their sleep at night and threw them out of the house.

On 9 September 2025, the man was detained by the police after threatening to kill his sister’s partner and his friend at a recreational plot in Lwówek Śląski, waving an axe at them.

After being brought to the District Prosecutor’s Office in Lwówek Śląski, he was charged with abusing members of his family and making criminal threats against the victims. He faces up to five years in prison.

The man did not admit to the acts he was accused of committing. He gave an explanation.
