Road traffic officers and an investigative team were immediately dispatched to the scene. Together with a forensic technician, the district prosecutor and an expert in road traffic and accident reconstruction, they carried out procedural activities. The spokesperson said: – The preliminary findings made at the scene indicate that a 34-year-old man driving a Volkswagen passenger car failed to yield to a group of three motorcyclists approaching from the opposite direction while making a left turn. As a result, the first motorcycle collided with the vehicle.

Despite prolonged resuscitation efforts, the life of the 43-year-old motorcyclist could not be saved.

Under the prosecutor’s supervision, police officers secured the accident scene, inspected the scene itself and the wrecked vehicle, and questioned the participants and witnesses. The forensic technician took photographs and prepared a scene diagram, as well as securing traces found at the scene that may prove very helpful in precisely establishing the circumstances of this tragic incident.

Officers:

Once again, we appeal to drivers to exercise particular caution on the road, and to act sensibly, remain sober and exercise prudence. Regardless of the vehicle we are driving, we should remember to adjust its speed so that we can always react in time.

Drivers must be aware that when taking to the road, they are responsible not only for themselves but also for other road users. Driving too fast or under the influence of alcohol poses numerous risks to people who happen to be in that place at that time.
