As we have managed to establish, the scooter rider, a 68-year-old resident of Gromadka municipality, has been detained. He was riding the two-wheeler while intoxicated and despite a court-imposed ban.
He now faces up to 5 years in prison.
The incident occurred on 14 September. Firefighters from Gromadka:
(…) at 8:20 p.m., dispatch to a person injured in a scooter collision on the Gromadka–Wierzbowa road.
They added: – Upon arrival, we found a person in a roadside ditch, crushed by a scooter. Our actions consisted of securing the scene, freeing the injured person and providing first aid.
Firefighters from Gromadka, a medical rescue team and the police took part in the operation. The police are investigating the causes and circumstances of the incident.
