Police officers from the Bolesławiec District Police Headquarters received information about a door being damaged in one of the buildings on the market square. The unit said: “A recording from the building manager’s surveillance cameras appeared online, showing the moment the crime was committed.

Even before the authorized entity filed a formal notification, the officers analyzed the recording and identified the man responsible for damaging the door mechanism. The detectives established the perpetrator’s whereabouts and went to the indicated address.

At the time of his arrest, the man was in the apartment with a friend. It turned out that his companion was wanted by law enforcement authorities. Both men were arrested and brought to the Bolesławiec District Police Headquarters.

One of the detained men was charged with damaging property. The police headquarters said: “Thanks to the officers’ immediate response, the perpetrator was quickly identified and appropriate legal steps were taken against him.

The act of vandalism is punishable by up to five years in prison.
