The incident occurred on August 13, at approximately 5:00 p.m., near Lubin. – Police officers from the Traffic Department in Lubin working at the scene – under the supervision of a prosecutor and with the participation of an expert in the reconstruction of road accidents – determined that the probable cause was failure to yield, committed by the 70-year-old driver of a Renault passenger car – reports asp. szt. Krzysztof Pawlik, deputy press officer of the Lubin KPP.
And he adds: – While turning left, the man drove into the path of the 24-year-old motorcyclist riding a Suzuki. The vehicles collided at a right angle. Unfortunately, the rider had no chance in the crash.
And he emphasizes:
Despite resuscitation lasting nearly an hour, initiated by witnesses to the accident – including a Lubin traffic police officer who came upon the incident, and continued by emergency services – the 24-year-old’s life could not be saved.
Police and the prosecutor’s office are determining the causes and circumstances of the tragedy. The officers say:
We appeal to drivers to exercise caution and remain vigilant! The current weather encourages people to use two-wheelers, and more motorcycles will be appearing on the roads. The holiday season also brings increased traffic. It is better to check twice than to cause a tragedy!
