The incident occurred in Nowogrodziec. – The 26-year-old driver of an Audi failed to yield the right of way to another driver, witnessed by officers from the Police Station in Nowogrodziec – reports Senior Constable Łukasz Porębski from the Press Section of the Lower Silesian Provincial Police Headquarters in Wrocław. – Seeing the police car, the perpetrator of the traffic offense suddenly turned into one of the side streets, which aroused even greater interest among the officers. On this basis, the uniformed officers stopped the vehicle for inspection.
It turned out that the man was subject to a court-ordered driving ban, and the county governor had revoked his driving privileges. However, this was not the end of the driver's list of offenses.

During further procedures, the officers determined that improper license plates had been fitted to the vehicle and were not assigned to it.
In connection with suspicions of another offense, the officers searched the vehicle. Inside, they found narcotic and psychoactive substances – most likely marijuana and amphetamine. The seized substances were submitted for further laboratory testing.
Moreover, it emerged that the driver had got behind the wheel after taking drugs. Senior Constable Ł. Porębski: – The 26-year-old was detained, and his blood was collected for testing to determine what substances he was under the influence of while driving on a public road.
A detailed inspection of the vehicle showed that it was not authorized for road use because its registration certificate had previously been retained, it did not have a valid technical inspection or third-party liability insurance, and its condition posed a danger to road safety because of the cracked windshield.
The man will now answer for a series of traffic offenses and crimes, including violating the court-ordered driving ban and driving under the influence of narcotic substances, using license plates from another vehicle, and possessing narcotic substances.
The 26-year-old faces up to five years in prison.
