Lwówek Śląski criminal investigators, working together with officers of the National Revenue Administration, carried out operations aimed at combating illegal gambling. – As a result, it was established that gaming machines operating in violation of the law might be located in one of the premises in Lwówek Śląski – reports junior aspirant Olga Łukaszewicz, press officer of the local police headquarters.
During the operation, the officers uncovered three illegal devices used for gambling. A 53-year-old man who was inside the premises was detained at the scene.
The National Revenue Administration officers present at the scene conducted a procedural experiment that confirmed the gambling nature of the devices. All the machines were secured as evidence in the case.
The detained man was taken to a police cell, where he spent the night. The following day, he was charged with violating the provisions of the Gambling Act. The spokesperson said: – In the course of further findings, it was estimated that the operation of the premises may have resulted in a PLN 300,000 reduction in State Treasury revenues arising from a public-law relationship.
