Police officers from the Lubin police headquarters who work every day to combat car-related crime recovered a Renault passenger car stolen from one of the parking lots in Lubin as a result of thorough operational work—and just two days after the theft was reported. –

The officers correctly identified and then detained a 33-year-old woman and a 35-year-old man suspected of committing the crime.

According to the police, the couple wanted to make money; they both came up with the idea of making a quick profit. In one of the parking lots in Lubin, they chose a car which they broke into. They then called a tow truck driver, lying that the vehicle belonged to them but had broken down and that they wanted to have it scrapped.

The plan failed. The couple ended up in a police cell. – They were charged with burglary, which they both admitted to. They explained their actions by citing a difficult financial situation – explains Asp. Staff Officer Sylwia Serafin from the Lubin District Police Headquarters.

The vehicle was returned to its owner. The suspects have already been charged with burglary. They could face up to 10 years in prison.
