Police officers from the station in Nowogrodziec arrested a 24-year-old cyclist in Bolesławiec. Riding his bicycle at night, the man changed direction when he saw a police car. Command: – The reasons for his behaviour quickly became clear.
As it turned out, the cyclist had several portions of methamphetamine in his trouser pocket. What is more, the district officer recognised him as a person suspected of thefts committed in May and June in Osiecznica Municipality. Officers:
Realising that he was wanted by the Police, the perpetrator had moved a few weeks earlier from the area where the crimes had been committed to Bolesławiec. However, this did not help him avoid responsibility.
The 24-year-old was arrested and then taken to the Police Station in Nowogrodziec, where he was charged with three offences involving possession of narcotic substances, stealing a bicycle from private property, and stealing an excavator bucket and nearly 50 metres of telecommunications cable.
The excavator part was recovered by officers several days after it had been stolen. At that time, a 27-year-old resident of Osiecznica Municipality was arrested for receiving stolen property; the property lost as a result of the crime was secured at his home. Meanwhile, the thief was in hiding.
The arrested 24-year-old thief is a repeat offender. He had already been convicted multiple times for thefts and burglaries in Złotoryja County, where he comes from.
For the offences committed, he faces an enhanced sentence of up to 7.5 years in prison.
