A tragic accident occurred on 24 July at the junction of the A4 motorway and the S3 expressway, on the section leading towards Lubin. – According to police findings, the 49-year-old man riding a BMW motorcycle failed to adjust his speed to the road conditions on a bend, as a result of which he lost control of the vehicle and struck an energy-absorbing barrier – reports asp. Anna Tersa of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Legnica. – Unfortunately, he died at the scene.
Officers once again appeal for caution and prudence on the road:
A motorcycle offers freedom, but requires responsibility.
During the summer season, motorcyclists are particularly exposed to danger. The lack of a protective body, lower stability at high speeds and limited visibility to other drivers mean that even a minor mistake can end tragically.
Rules for safe riding a two-wheeler
- Adjust your speed to the road conditions. A bend, a descent or a wet surface require reducing your speed.
- Always wear complete protective clothing. A helmet is essential, but a jacket, gloves and boots also matter.
- Do not overestimate your abilities; some motorcycles have enormous power, which becomes a danger in the wrong hands.
- Watch the road, assess the situation and leave yourself a margin for error. You are not alone on the route, and your family is waiting for you at home.
- A motorcycle is a passion, a way of life and adrenaline – but above all, responsibility for yourself and others. Safety is not a matter of chance. It is determined by the decisions we make before every journey.
