The incident took place on Thursday evening, July 10, near the center of Bolesławiec. Officers of the Customs and Tax Service from the Lower Silesian Customs and Tax Office in Wrocław shut down an illegal gambling venue in the City of Ceramics.
During the operation, the services seized 4 gaming machines worth PLN 48,000 and PLN 7,000 in cash.
The officers detained one person, who was charged with organizing illegal gambling.
Meanwhile, actions by DUCS and the Police led to the shutdown of an illegal gambling venue in Ziębice. There, officers seized 3 gaming machines, 2 Wi-Fi routers and PLN 7,000 in cash. The person operating the illegal venue was charged with running gambling games in violation of the law.

Under the law, operating gambling games outside a casino without the required concession is a crime and entails criminal liability. Possessing illegal gaming machines and other equipment enabling gambling carries severe penalties of PLN 100,000 per machine. They apply both to the person organizing illegal gambling and to the owner of the premises where unregistered machines operate. In addition to a hefty fine for organizing illegal games, offenders may also face up to 3 years in prison.
