The incident occurred on 16 July 2025, at approximately 7:10 a.m. The duty officer of the Jelenia Góra Municipal Police Headquarters was notified that 10 fuses, 2 mortar shells and an artillery shell from the Second World War had been found in Piechowice, in the riverbed.
Jelenia Góra police officers secured the site until bomb-disposal specialists from the military unit in Bolesławiec arrived.
