In the morning, a resident of Gromadka municipality notified the officers that her means of transport had been stolen from a shelter next to her home during the night. The victim is a person with disabilities and handles her daily affairs by using a special scooter.
Gathering information about the circumstances of the incident, together with the good knowledge of the area demonstrated by the neighborhood officer and a detective, made it possible to identify the people suspected in the case. The officers: – The priority was to recover the machine, which is essential for the reporting woman’s mobility.
The first to be arrested was a woman who had been keeping the stolen scooter. The 33-year-old was charged with receiving stolen property, and the recovered vehicle was returned to its owner.
Bolesławiec District Police Headquarters: – The subsequent actions focused on arresting the thief, who, aware that he was being sought by the officers, was hiding. The involvement of officers from the Criminal Department of the Bolesławiec unit led to the location and arrest of a 34-year-old resident of this district.
At the police station, the suspect was charged with a total of three offenses, all concerning theft. The first two involved the theft of outdoor cameras from a private property. (The officers recovered some of the property.) The third charge concerned the theft of the aforementioned scooter, worth PLN 2,000.
The arrested man confessed. Moreover, it emerged that he was wanted to serve a prison sentence for property offenses he had committed previously. Station: – The thief will spend the next year in prison.
