As reported by Bolesławiec Municipality:

We would like to inform you that the waste located in the trailer of a tractor unit left in a publicly accessible car park near a petrol station in Łąka has been removed. This eliminated the threat it posed to the environment and surrounding area.

The waste had been stored in the trailer of a Renault tractor unit since February 2022. Office: – An expert assessment commissioned by Bolesławiec Municipality confirmed that it consisted of hazardous waste, accounting for as much as 89–90% of its total mass. The total mass of the waste was approximately 25.7 Mg (megagrams).

The municipal authorities did not obtain information about the person responsible for depositing it. Municipal Office:

This information was provided neither by the District Court—the 2nd Criminal Division in Bolesławiec—nor by the Lower Silesian Voivodeship Inspectorate for Environmental Protection in Wrocław. Only the Regional Prosecutor’s Office in Jelenia Góra informed the authorities that an indictment had been filed against a suspect. However, no final judgment had been issued in the case by the time the waste was removed.

Administrative proceedings concerning the removal and management of the stored waste were initiated ex officio. The municipal authorities announce:

However, this does not conclude the actions in this matter—the tractor unit with its trailer is still located in the car park, causing inconvenience to property owners. The Head of Bolesławiec Municipality will take the necessary steps to remove the vehicle from the site.
