Last night, a statement by mayor Joanna Świder appeared on the Nowogrodziec Municipal Office website:

In connection with the letter received from the Bolesławiec District Prosecutor’s Office dated June 2, 2025, I hereby inform you that, under the supervision of the Bolesławiec District Prosecutor’s Office, an investigation is being conducted against the former Director of the Independent Public Healthcare Institution in Nowogrodziec, who has been charged with using a false certificate necessary to take up the position of Director of the SPZOZ.

The legal classification of the act allegedly committed by the suspect is Article 270 § 1 of the Criminal Code. The investigation is being conducted by the Police Commissariat in Nowogrodziec under the supervision of the Bolesławiec District Prosecutor’s Office.

The head of the municipality added:

In connection with the above, the Nowogrodziec Gmina and City, should the suspect be finally convicted, will immediately take steps to recover public funds paid as remuneration which, in light of the circumstances presented, may have been received without legal basis.

I assure you that the local government of the Nowogrodziec Gmina and City will fully cooperate with law enforcement authorities, acting in the interests of residents and with concern for the sound and transparent management of public funds public.

The police confirm that such proceedings are indeed underway. We will return to the subject.

Let us recall that the mayor already raised this issue—albeit in a somewhat more veiled manner—during the January session of the Nowogrodziec Municipal Council. (Details: Was a pregnant woman unlawfully dismissed? The municipal head gives a firm response).
