Camp Kościuszko – the United States Army Garrison in Poland invites everyone to joint celebrations of the 250th anniversary of the founding of the US Army. The event, open to the public, will take place on Saturday, June 14, in the historic market square in Bolesławiec and will feature a dynamic combination of American and Polish traditions, military demonstrations and live music. The celebration highlights the strong partnership between US forces and their Polish hosts.
“This celebration is about more than just a birthday – it is a symbol of our shared history, which reaches back to Tadeusz Kościuszko and Kazimierz Pułaski, who helped establish the United States Army 250 years ago during the War of Independence, and continues to this day, when we are united by an unbreakable alliance within NATO,” says Colonel Jesse Chace, commander of USAG Poland. “It is an honor for us to celebrate this special anniversary together with our Polish allies and the Bolesławiec community.”
The event will begin at 3:00 p.m. with performances by Polish and American military bands. The official part of the celebration will begin at 4:00 p.m. with speeches by the Mayor of Bolesławiec and the Commander of USAG Poland, followed by the ceremonial cutting of the birthday cake and a joint singing of “Happy Birthday.” The rest of the evening will be devoted to entertainment, with a band and a DJ taking the stage. The event is scheduled to end at 8:00 p.m.
