Market Square fountain
Visible in the camera image are: the city fountain, the townhouses in the Market Square and Kościelna Street. Water spraying from the fountain nozzles shimmers in various colours. The fountain is a favourite place for children to play on hot summer days. The structure was built in 2010. Beneath the fountain there is a mechanism that filters the water and operates as a water-treatment plant. During Bolesławiec Ceramic Festival, the largest event promoting the city, the fountain changes colour to cobalt blue—the colour of Bolesławiec ceramics.

Original functional ceramics, drawing on local nineteenth-century traditions, have been produced at our cooperative since 1950. Ceramika Artystyczna Spółdzielnia Rękodzieła Artystycznego has created designs that win awards and recognition in Poland and around the world. We combine the centuries-old tradition of form with the functional challenges of modernity. The vessels are decorated by hand using the traditional stamping method, with environmentally safe glazes and paints. In 2020, the cooperative will celebrate its 70th anniversary.
