– The 46-year-old, who previously lived in Polkowice, committed fraud and had been wanted since 2009 on the basis of two arrest warrants issued by the District Court in Gdańsk and the District Prosecutor’s Office in Lubin – explains Sub-Inspector Przemysław Rybikowski, press officer for the District Police Headquarters in Polkowice. – Although the wanted man had been hiding abroad for 19 years, officers from Polkowice found his trail and passed the necessary information to Greek police officers.
He adds: – The findings shared by the Polkowice investigators with the Greek side proved extremely accurate. The wanted man, who was subsequently located, was arrested near his place of residence.
The outcome? The 46-year-old was extradited and placed in pre-trial detention in Warsaw, where he is serving a prison sentence.
