A Bolesławiec traffic police officer, while shopping privately at a supermarket, noticed a man putting a store product into his backpack. Seeing what he was doing at the other shelves, he had no doubt about the man's intentions. – The police officer immediately notified a colleague from the Prevention Department, who was also off duty. Together, they detained the 45-year-old from Lwówek County. The thief packed store products worth nearly 4,000 zlotys in total into various bags and placed them beyond the checkout line, hoping to leave the store without arousing suspicion – reports Asp. Sgt. The resident of a neighboring county will face charges for stealing wheels from a vehicle and cameras, shoplifting, attempted burglary, and bold theft by snatching a handbag from a female resident of Bolesławiec.
Recently, the 45-year-old had been detained several times by police officers from other units—also in connection with thefts.
At the request of the District Prosecutor in Bolesławiec, the court imposed pretrial detention on the habitual thief and burglar for three months.
