The incident occurred on Sunday in the Nowogrodziec municipality. A road accident caused by an intoxicated driver took place there. Bolesławiec police on the incident:
The 20-year-old lost control of his car on a bend and collided with a vehicle approaching from the opposite direction. The accident’s perpetrator is a resident of Bolesławiec County who was driving while intoxicated. A test showed more than 1.2 per mille of alcohol in his system.
The 20-year-old was arrested.
Officers: – A family of three from Lubań County was traveling in the other vehicle; medical services transported them to hospitals.
And they concluded:
Rainy weather and slippery roads should prompt drivers to exercise particular caution and reduce their speed, because in such conditions it is easy to lose control of a vehicle. Meanwhile, lacking a driving licence and having alcohol in one’s system are absolute contraindications to driving.
Driving while intoxicated is punishable by up to 3 years in prison. The 20-year-old will also face charges for causing the accident.
