The incident occurred on Thursday, 15 May this year, in Mściszów. An unexploded ordnance item was found while a home well was being cleaned. – After receiving the information, police officers secured the dangerous finds and notified military bomb-disposal specialists – reports junior inspector Justyna Bujakiewicz-Rodzeń.
She adds: – Police pyrotechnicians present at the scene determined that the objects found were a 75 mm shell and two rounds of small-arms ammunition dating from World War II.
And concludes: – Later that same day, the bomb-disposal specialists took possession of the unexploded ordnance and transported it to a military training ground.
The officers appeal:
We remind you that under no circumstances should you touch unexploded ordnance that you find, let alone move it. Contact with such objects can be extremely dangerous and potentially fatal.
