Officers from the Police Station in Nowogrodziec – thanks to surveillance footage – quickly identified the perpetrator of the electric bicycle theft, which took place in Osiecznica Municipality. Bolesławiec District Police Headquarters:
The two-wheeler, worth PLN 2,000, belonged to a senior citizen and was her only means of transport.
The suspect was detained by officers from Bolesławiec and Nowogrodziec the very next day, in the morning. A few hours later, the bicycle was returned to the place from which it had been stolen.
Officers: – The detainee is a 36-year-old resident of Bolesławiec. Leaving a shop, the man noticed an unsecured bicycle, got on it and rode away.
The suspect confessed to the theft. He was also charged with burglary of an outbuilding, which occurred in October last year. The police headquarters: – During a search of the premises used by the man, police officers secured items originating from that crime.
What is more, another man was present in the apartment where the 36-year-old was staying. He was also detained because he possessed methamphetamine.

Thieves often take advantage of opportunities and disappear with someone else’s property within seconds. By leaving a bicycle on a low balcony or in a stairwell without proper security, owners make it considerably easier for criminals to act.
