As announced by the Provincial Police Headquarters, today, from the early morning hours, Lower Silesian police officers will conduct intensified checks as part of an operation codenamed “Speed”:

The operation will mainly involve officers from road-traffic units, who will check, among other things, whether drivers obey speed limits and travel on the roads in accordance with the regulations.

The activities conducted by the police will include, among other things, “cascade” checks. This means that the location of speed measurements will be changed frequently, depending on the hazards present and the intensity of traffic-law violations committed by drivers in a given area.

Officers: – The operation is intended not only to identify offenders, but also to condemn their negative behaviour on the roads. It should be remembered that inadequate preparation for a journey, recklessness, and failure to adjust speed to the prevailing weather conditions and applicable regulations repeatedly lead to incidents with very serious consequences.

The last operation of this kind ended with police officers checking nearly one thousand drivers travelling in various types of vehicles. Unfortunately, many of them were driving far too fast, and their journeys ended with penalty proceedings.
