The incident took place on April 7, in the afternoon. The duty officer at the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec received a report about a man who, after consuming alcohol, got behind the wheel of a passenger car. Officers:

When traffic police officers arrived at the scene, it turned out that the danger had passed because witnesses had made a citizen’s arrest of the intoxicated driver. Alert residents of Bolesławiec seized the moment when the driver stopped to prevent him from continuing to drive and leaving the scene.

A strong smell of alcohol was noticeable from the 38-year-old. The police headquarters: – A sobriety test conducted by the officers showed that the man had been driving with 3.5 promille of alcohol in his system.

What is more, it emerged that he did not have a valid driving licence. He had lost it many years ago—and for driving while drunk.

The Bolesławiec resident now faces up to three years in prison. Police: – Thank you to the people who reacted and took decisive action!
