Officers from the Speed group stopped a 42-year-old resident of the Silesian Voivodeship, who had significantly exceeded the speed limit on the A4 motorway. The driver was travelling in his BMW at 218 km/h, in a place where the limit is 110 km/h.

– During the patrol, the police recorded the dangerous driving using a video recorder. Such a significant breach of the speed limit posed a serious threat to other road users. The driver was immediately stopped for inspection – reports Senior Sergeant Aleksandra Pieprzycka from the Provincial Police Headquarters in Wrocław.

She adds: – For his reckless behaviour, the 42-year-old was fined PLN 5,000 and received 15 penalty points.

And they add:

The activities of the Lower Silesian “Speed” groups are aimed at removing from traffic drivers who pose a threat to others and, above all, at improving safety. Irresponsible behaviour such as this will not be tolerated.
