The District Prosecutor’s Office in Bolesławiec is conducting an investigation into a case against 34-year-old Łukasz T., a resident of Bolesławiec County — concerning the physical and psychological abuse of his 72-year-old mother.

— The investigation findings show that between August 2024 and 18 March 2025, the suspect, while intoxicated or under the influence of psychoactive substances, mainly methamphetamine, repeatedly started domestic arguments during which he physically and psychologically abused his mother— reports Ewa Węglarowicz-Makowska, press spokesperson for the Regional Prosecutor’s Office in Jelenia Góra. — The perpetrator called her names using commonly regarded offensive terms and threatened to kill her and set the house on fire. He repeatedly pushed and grabbed the woman by her clothing and destroyed furnishings in the apartment.

On 4 March 2025, he smashed a pane of glass in the porch. Then, on 18 March 2025, while under the influence of alcohol and a psychotropic substance, he started another argument. Fearing that he would carry out his threats, the victim locked herself in her room. The prosecutor said: — The son then began kicking the locked door, and when he could not open it, he brought an axe and used it to hack a hole in the door, completely damaging it.

It was established that the perpetrator had already been convicted by the courts several times for abusing his mother and had served a prison sentence for these offenses.

After being brought to the District Prosecutor’s Office in Bolesławiec, he was charged with abusing his mother while a repeat offender. He faces up to 7.5 years in prison.

The suspect did not admit to committing the alleged offense. He gave explanations in which he downplayed his behavior toward his mother. He claimed that the victim provoked him and falsely accused him.
