The incident occurred on March 25 this year, at approximately 9:40 p.m., at one of the petrol stations in Jelenia Góra. The local KMP:
Officers who were at the scene heard a loud noise that could indicate a road incident. They immediately headed toward the source of the sound and saw a Honda vehicle which, while entering the station premises, struck a post securing the entrance.
The police promptly intervened. The driver tried to leave the scene, but the officers effectively prevented her from driving any further.
The police station: – It was clear at first glance that the woman was heavily intoxicated; she had difficulty communicating and was unable to keep her balance. A test showed that her body contained more than 3‰ of alcohol.
Moreover, it emerged that the 36-year-old did not have a driving licence. The woman was taken into police custody, while her vehicle was secured and towed to a parking lot.
Officers:
The woman will now appear before the court for driving while intoxicated and without the required licence. She faces up to 3 years in prison, a heavy fine and a driving ban.
They add:
Police appeal for common sense and responsibility on the road. Intoxicated drivers pose a serious threat to themselves and other road users. Let us remember that every decision to drive after drinking alcohol can have tragic consequences.
