The conduct of a person who steals life-saving equipment is outrageous. The incident occurred last weekend (14/15 March this year) at night. The life-saving device was located on one of the utility buildings at the Orlik sports field in Leśna.
Its location was not accidental, as there is considerable traffic in this area, including children using the sports field and residents of the county. Under cover of darkness, the suspect stole the device and left in an unknown direction.
The officers began identifying the perpetrator. They immediately went to his place of residence. During a search, they found the stolen property in the man's backpack.
It turned out that he had not needed the equipment to save a life. He stole it for “satisfaction.” The man was arrested and taken to a police station. He has already been charged with theft. He did not contest his guilt.
The recovered defibrillator was handed over to an employee of the Culture and Sport Centre in Leśna. The court will now decide the fate of the detained 42-year-old. He faces up to five years in prison.
A defibrillator is a life-saving device. Its theft can cost someone their health or even their life. Do not steal it.
