The District Prosecutor’s Office in Luban launched an investigation against a 48-year-old man suspected of abusing his common-law partner. Investigators:

Preliminary findings indicate that between February 1, 2025, and March 13, 2025, in one of the localities in Lubań County, the perpetrator mentally abused his partner. While under the influence of alcohol, he started arguments during which he insulted her with words commonly regarded as offensive. He restricted her contact with other people, accused her of affairs, and threatened the victim and her closest relatives with assault and murder.

They add: – The victim feared that these threats would be carried out. She knew the suspect’s past and knew that in December 2024 he had been released from prison, where he had served a 25-year sentence for murder.

The perpetrator was detained. After being brought by Police officers to the District Prosecutor’s Office in Luban, he was charged with mentally abusing the victim, including making criminal threats against her; he was also accused of committing the act while a recidivist.

The suspect, who faces up to 7.5 years in prison, denied committing the alleged offense. He gave an explanation.

At the request of the District Prosecutor in Luban, the local court remanded the aggressor in custody for three months.
