The incident occurred on the morning of Monday, March 17, on the A4 motorway. – At that time, officers from the Police Station in Kruszyna noticed a disabled Audi passenger car on the emergency lane of the highway – reports Police Commissioner Przemysław Ratajczyk from the Press Section of the Provincial Police Headquarters in Wrocław. – The officers intervened to determine the cause of the car’s stop and, if necessary, provide medical assistance to the driver should he require it.
However, during their actions, the officers quickly established that the driver did not need help but had simply decided to... take a nap in the back seat. What is more, it turned out that the driver had not merely been unlucky with a vehicle breakdown; he had something on his conscience.
Spokesperson: – The 41-year-old Georgian national who was driving the Audi admitted to police officers that he had stolen fuel from one of the MOP service stations in Kraśnik Dolny, which staff had previously reported to the officers. However, unfortunately for him, the man filled the car with fuel unsuitable for that particular model, causing it to become immobilized.
In this crisis situation, the perpetrator of the theft did not seek help; instead, he decided to take a nap in the back seat of his vehicle.
The Georgian man was detained and taken to the police station in Kruszyna, where he was charged. The court convicted him in expedited proceedings and imposed a fine. The foreign national must also compensate for the damage caused.
