On Thursday, March 3, forty reserve soldiers who joined the National Reserve Forces in the 23rd Silesian Artillery Brigade took part in their first exercises. The soldiers were welcomed by Col. Jarosław Kraszewski, the unit’s commander. “The best of you will receive, after completing the exercises, an enlistment pass for service in the corps of professional privates in the 23rd Silesian Artillery Brigade. Remember that we value knowledge, diligence and commitment,” he said. “I hope that during the exercises you will present yourselves in the best possible way.”
“I have specific plans involving the military. I treat the NSR contract as a pass to military service in the corps of professional privates,” says Private Kamil Stankiewicz, a topographer. Private Jacek Bochnia, a rangefinder operator, often visited the Bolesławiec unit while still in secondary school, as a student in a military-focused class. “I have been getting to know military service for many years, and I feel that it is something for me,” he emphasizes.
Medic Iwona Skrobuk-Jadach, a graduate of a medical academy and a pharmaceutical college, signed an NSR contract for one reason. “I want to develop my skills. I will have that opportunity in the military,” she states.
