– The driver’s behavior and a silver Toyota with Wrocław registration plates and a “TAXI” sign caught the attention of Polkowice police officers. The officers watched closely as the 31-year-old began refueling at one of the stations in Polkowice and suddenly walked away from the pump – reports Assistant Commissioner Przemysław Rybikowski, press officer of the District Police Headquarters in Polkowice.
The man harassed customers, had no way to pay for the fuel he had pumped, and then, venting his emotions, delivered several kicks... to elements of the gas station. When intervening, the patrol officers decided to draw the distracted man’s attention to his behavior.
Spokesperson:
It turned out that the Wrocław resident’s irrational behavior was related not only to a possible health condition, but also to cocaine use. It was the presence of this drug in the 31-year-old’s body that was detected by a drug test. During the proceedings, the detained driver’s initially calm behavior changed dramatically several times.
The police officers heard a series of threats from the aggressive man, including threats to kill them. He also violated the officers’ bodily integrity. Assistant Commissioner:
The situation did not change even while he was being escorted, when the detainee tried to damage parts of the patrol car with his own body.
The result? Spokesperson: – Paramedics arrived at the scene where the proceedings were being carried out and administered the necessary medication to the 31-year-old. The medication, a protective helmet and a restraint jacket helped bring the detainee’s aggressive behavior under control.
The Wrocław resident was taken to a police cell. The next day, he was charged with driving under the influence of drugs, insulting police officers and violating their bodily integrity. He faces up to three years in prison.
