– Criminal investigators from the Bolesławiec Police unit quickly identified the perpetrator of the crime that took place yesterday evening in one of the stores in the city – emphasizes aspirant staff officer Anna Kublik-Rościszewska, press officer of the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec. – While in the store, the man noticed a device left unattended and stole it, thinking it was a mobile phone. The surveillance footage recorded the perpetrator taking a price scanner worth 4,000 zlotys.
Operational activities led to the rapid identification of the perpetrator and the recovery of the stolen property. The spokeswoman said: – The 33-year-old was arrested and charged with theft. When checking his place of residence, police officers secured the device, which was part of the store’s equipment.
Theft is punishable by up to 5 years in prison.
