During the operation, supervised by the National Prosecutor’s Office and supported by, among others, officers from the KGP, Border Guard officers, police officers from Świebodzice, and counterterrorists from Wrocław and Poznań, the officers seized not only drugs but also equipment, devices, and chemical substances necessary for their production. By court decision, the arrested members of the dismantled organized criminal group were placed in temporary custody for a period of 3 months.
Months of operational work and a whole series of various covert activities led officers of the Department for Combating Drug-Related Crime of the Lower Silesian provincial headquarters, who specialize in identifying and arresting criminals involved in the drug trade, to Pleszew County in the Greater Poland Voivodeship. According to the information gathered and findings made, a “factory” where wholesale quantities of synthetic drugs were produced was located there.
Having solid grounds in the extensive evidence gathered, Lower Silesian police officers, supported by officers from the Criminal Bureau of the National Police Headquarters, the Police Station in Świebodzice, the Border Guard in Gołdap, and counterterrorists from Wrocław and Poznań, entered precisely selected buildings, where they found a complete production line used to manufacture clephedrone, a fully equipped drug-drying facility, and huge quantities of finished clephedrone—more than 860 kilograms with a black-market value of approximately 70 million złotys. The police also found four people at the site involved in producing the illegal substances; they were arrested and taken into police custody. In addition to the drugs, chemical apparatus and equipment used in their production, as well as precursors necessary to manufacture psychotropic substances, were placed in police custody.
The four members of the organized criminal group involved in producing clephedrone, aged between 36 and 56, who were in the process of manufacturing the prohibited substance, were placed in temporary custody for three months by court decision.
Police officers, under the supervision of the National Prosecutor’s Office, are continuing to clarify all the circumstances of the case in detail. It should also be recalled that manufacturing significant quantities of narcotic drugs is punishable by up to 20 years in prison.
