On December 11, at approximately 10:00 a.m., an unusual collision involving a BMW and a Volkswagen occurred on Spółdzielcza Street in Jelenia Góra. The officers:
According to the officers’ findings, the 22-year-old BMW driver failed to maintain a safe distance from the vehicle in front and collided with the rear of a Volkswagen delivery van driven by a 63-year-old resident of Jelenia Góra. Fortunately, no one was injured.
They added: – The unusual nature of the incident was that the front reinforcement of the BMW literally impaled itself on the delivery van’s tow hitch, causing both vehicles to become permanently attached to each other.
Despite numerous attempts to separate the cars—made by both the officers and the passengers—they could not be detached. The officers:
The situation was resolved thanks to... a crane operator who happened to be passing nearby. The man offered his help and used a crane to lift the rear of the delivery vehicle, making it possible to separate the two cars.
The BMW driver was fined and received penalty points. Police are appealing for caution on the road, especially in winter!
