Criminal investigators from the Bolesławiec unit detained a resident of Zgorzelec County. – Over the past 7 weeks, the 21-year-old committed 8 offenses against property – explains asp. szt. Anna Kublik-Rościszewska, press officer of the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec. – In one case, he cut open the tarpaulin of a truck parked in a lot and stole 13 cartons of wet wipes worth nearly PLN 4,000.
The next 7 charges heard by the suspect at the Police Station in Nowogrodziec concerned breaking into the fuel tanks of heavy goods vehicles and stealing nearly 3,500 liters of diesel fuel in total. The spokesperson said: – The detainee claims that each time he sold the fuel to random people and spent the money on everyday expenses. The total losses were estimated at nearly PLN 25,000.
The past few weeks account for only some of the offenses on the record of the resident of the neighboring county, who has been spending increasingly more time here for some time.

The 21-year-old had already been detained as a result of operational work by Bolesławiec police officers. In September, he was charged with breaking into vehicles and stealing fuel, crimes he committed together with a 43-year-old resident of Zgorzelec County. The charges covered more than 30 offenses.
For burglaries and thefts, the 21-year-old faces up to 10 years in prison.
