– The investigation established that on October 8, 2024, in Bolesławiec, the suspect took three packages of replacement heads for electric toothbrushes from the Rossmann drugstore with the intention of keeping them, with a total value of PLN 299.97 – prosecutor Ewa Węglarowicz-Makowska, spokesperson for the District Prosecutor’s Office in Jelenia Góra, reports. – Upon seeing this, the security guard decided to detain him and recover the stolen goods. The perpetrator then struck the victim in the face with an open hand, pushed him, and, threatening him with assault and death, left the drugstore.

The perpetrator, as established, had already been convicted many times. The spokesperson said: – The court had repeatedly sentenced him to terms of imprisonment for similar offenses, which he served until February 2024.

On October 9, 2024, the perpetrator turned himself in at the County Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec, hoping that his act would be treated as a misdemeanor.

That did not happen. The Bolesławiec resident was brought to the prosecutor’s office, where he was charged with robbery committed while reoffending. Investigators emphasize that this caused the 38-year-old to become aggressive.

Prosecutor:

The suspect admitted stealing three packages of electric toothbrush heads. However, he categorically denied using violence against the security guard or threatening to kill him if he did not let him out of the drugstore.

The man was remanded in custody for three months. He faces up to 15 years in prison.
