A reader informed us about the matter. The incident involved his mother, who had broken her arm and came for a follow-up appointment accompanied by her adult children.

– Mum had an appointment scheduled for 10:40 that day – the reader explains. – When she arrived at the clinic, it turned out that the doctor was already running an hour late. There were many sick people, elderly people and children at the clinic. The conditions provided to patients by the clinic managed by Mr Kamil Barczyk are an affront to all patients. At 12:45, the doctor left the office and returned at around 13:40. It was only after intervention by the patient rights ombudsperson at the Bolesławiec hospital that my mother was seen – the reader adds.

The director of Szpital św. Łukasza admitted that such a situation had occurred and explained:

An emergency situation in the ward resulted in the doctor being called in for an urgent surgical procedure, which at the same time disrupted the efficiency of patient admissions at the orthopaedic outpatient clinic. At the same time, I would like to inform you that the stated appointment times are indicative, and each patient is treated individually. The waiting period may be extended.
We ask for your understanding and apologize for the situation.

Yours sincerely, director of the healthcare facility in Bolesławiec, Kamil Barczyk
